The Wm. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum invites you to join our team of volunteers!
We welcome volunteers 16 years or older, from a variety of backgrounds with an interest in the Museum. Share your time, skills and knowledge while helping other learn. Our volunteers are a vital part of the ongoing work at the Museum. Volunteers contribute many hours of service and provide extra hands for our educational programs, demonstrations, special events and exhibits for thousands of people every year.
Schedules are flexible and training is provided. Application is available at the Museum's main office or you can contact Stephanie Span, Volunteer Coordinator, at 330-455-7043 or by email. 
Volunteers can help in the following areas:
In the Front Office
Performing light clerical duties, answering phones, taking admissions and
interacting with Museum guests.
As Docents
Leading tours through Discover World and the History areas.
With the Museum's Collection
Assist the Curator with accessioning, cataloguing and photographing the
Museum's artifacts.
In the Museum Shoppe
Waiting on customers, operating the cash register and stocking shelves.
With Outdoor Maintenance
Gardening duties, lawn care, planting, pruning and weeding.
At our Train Exhibit
Operate our HO train exhibit and interact with guests.
In our Planetarium
Assisting with on-going planetarium presentations.
At the Ramsayer Research Library
Assisting patrons and working on research requests.
And with Special Events & Projects.
Benefits For Our Volunteers
Volunteer Recognition
Volunteers are awarded a first year pin when 20 hours of service have been completed. Special recognition is also given to volunteers who have achieved multiples of five years of service. Awards are presented at Volunteer Recognition each spring.
Volunteering at the Museum has its rewards. The museum offers a variety of opportunities to participate in history and science exploration. Students appreciate the opportunity to develop job skills and investigate future career possibilities. Empty-nesters and retirees will discover that volunteering at the museum is a fun way to remain active in the community.
