A Message From the Director of Education

The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum invites you to bring your class for a day of interesting, fun and educational programs!  The Museum strives to provide the highest quality programs to area schools.  We are continually improving and changing the programs to meet the content standards and your needs.  We welcome your suggestions!

As Discover World celebrates its 20th anniversary there are exciting new displays awaiting your students.  New animals are on view along with a brand new watershed exhibit where students can learn about how our actions impact the local water supply.  Your students will make a new friend in Discover World when they meet KIRK, our interactive robot.

The Museum’s newest history exhibit, The Stark County Story has received rave reviews for its content and interactivity.  In addition to the McKinley Gallery and the Street of Shops, the American Heritage Tour  now includes The Stark County Story.  The 3rd grade Ohio & You program “Stark County Then & Now” has been completely redesigned to utilize the new information presented in the exhibition. A brand new tour called Destination Stark County has been designed for upper level students, which explores how local events fit into the larger picture of American history.

Whether you choose to experience Discover World, the Planetarium, an American Heritage Tour, Science Expeditions, Ohio & You, or Destination Stark County, be assured that your students will have a rewarding, fun and educational experience that will leave them wanting to come back for more.

Please see our school programs page for details on all of our programs.

Following your program I encourage you to complete and return the evaluation form provided to you. Your comments and suggestions are valuable as we continue to improve our programs.

Please contact me with any questions you may have, or to discuss the programs available to you. I can be reached by phone at 330-455-7043 or send me an email.

I look forward to working with you and providing a rewarding experience for your students!
