Christopher Kenney, Director of Education
Christopher Kenney graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton NY with a bachelor's degree in History and Music Performance. He went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in History Museum Studies at the Cooperstown Graduate Program. Chris is truly a Renaissance man with many different interests. He is proficient in Open Hearth Cooking, has played the piano for almost 25 years, has his private pilot's license, and is the proud owner of a 1969 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 convertible. He serves as Ohio History Day Coordinator for Region 5, which covers 8 counties in northeast Ohio. In 2003 his series of school programs Ohio & You was honored with a Commendation Award for History Outreach by the Ohio Association of Historical Societies and Museums. He published his first book entitled The William McKinley Presidential Library & Museum in June 2005. A second book, The McKinley Monument: A Tribute to a Fallen President, was recently published to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the McKinley Monument in 2007. Chris has been the Director of Education at the Wm. McKinley Presidential Library and Museum in Canton since 2001, where he coordinates the field trips for over 25,000 students every year.
