Something is always changing in the Keller Gallery, our temporary exhibition space! We create 3 or 4 exhibitions a year, mostly focused on the museum's extensive artifact collection. We also host traveling exhibitions from the Smithsonian and other institutions.
Exhibit opening receptions are usually held on a Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and are free. Check back often to see what's new and what's coming up!
CURRENTLY ON VIEW:
That’s Entertainment!
February 10 – May 27
Take a look back at how our community residents amused themselves in the past. Early settlers of German descent organized singing societies to entertain themselves and the community. This exciting exhibition will include Meyers Lake, Mother Goose Land, theaters, opera houses, parades, festivals and more!
Campaigns and Cartoons: The Role of Caricature in Political Persuasion
June 8 – September 30
Campaigns and Cartoons, a traveling exhibition from the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site in Indiana, features 36 original sketches and published political cartoons. The exhibit examines the evolution of the art for and the lives of noted artists who popularized such symbols as Uncle Sam, Miss Columbia, and even the donkey and the elephant, the icons by which the two major parties are known by today. The exhibit will also include artifacts from our permanent collection, including patriotic-themed artifacts and additional McKinley cartoons.
Life in Miniature
October 12, 2012-February, 18 2013
Our popular dollhouse show is back! This time we will feature all new dollhouses and miniatures on loan from miniature enthusiasts in our community. Highlights will include a large Victorian dollhouse from the museum’s collection and a recently donated scale model of the Hoover homestead in North Canton.
