The Museum welcomes approximately 50,000 visitors each year, while more than 200, 000 people visit the McKinley National Memorial grounds annually.
Our educational programs enable approximately 20,000 students each year to immerse themselves in hands-on learning activities during class field trips, summer science camps and group camp-ins at the museum. We serve approximately 2, 500 adults each year duing our evening lecture and speakers' programs.
From entrepreneurs such as Timken and Hoover to our nation's 25th president to local cultural icons including the Meyers Lake "Laffing Lady," Stark County has a rich history.
The Wm. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum is a private, 501 (c)(3) organization that receives no general operating support from government entities. It has been two decades since our last major fundraising drive...but it is once again time to ask for our community's help.
Our $4 million capital campaign will enable us to create a new "Stark County Story" exhibit. We will renovate Discover World and build an on-site, climate-controlled conservation gallery to store our 30,000 museum artifacts. We will also place half of the capital campaign contributions in endowment funds, to ensure the future success and financial stability of the museum.
Our new exhibit will feature artifacts, graphics and photos from Stark County's founding in 1805 through the present time. Visitors will learn about the county's transportation, innovation, lifestyle and cultural contributions-framed within the context of state, national and international events.
The mission of the Wm. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum is to preserve and interpret the history of Stark County, including that of its favorite citizen, and 25th President of the United States, William McKinley.
