In late 1957, a new star was seen in the night sky- an artificial star called Sputnik, a satellite sent up by the Soviet Union to circle Earth . Thus began the Space Race between the world's superpowers- us, the United States, versus the Russians. As much a political as technological race, billions of dollars were spent by both countries. Join Planetarium Director, Dave Richards for a look at some of the successes- and failures- of this unique period in world history.
This program is $15 and includes a signature soup, fresh baked bread, beverage and dessert. Reservations are required. Please call 330-455-7043.
